Ziel dieses internationalen Handballturniers f\u00fcr Frauenmannschaften war, den Frauenhandball in der Schweiz popul\u00e4rer zu machen. Dar\u00fcber hinaus war das Turnier, welches zwischen Weihnacht und Neujahr stattfand, eine ideale Gelegenheit f\u00fcr die eigene Mannschaft, sich auf die R\u00fcckrunde der Meisterschaft und auf den Europacup-Achtelfinal vorzubereiten.<\/p>\n<p>Der erste LCB-Cup wartete mit einem \u00e4usserst attraktiven Teilnehmerfeld auf, kamen doch die Teams von RK Lokomotiva Zagreb, Budaprint Szegedi (Ungarn), Sportowj Cracovia (Polen), ES Besan\u00e7on, VFL Sindelfingen, TSV Dachau und Pallamano Femminile Italiana Macchi nach St. Gallen. Das Turnier was in jeglicher Hinsicht ein voller Erfolg, so dass schnell einmal klar war, dass es nicht das letzte gewesen war. In den folgenden Jahren gelang es dem LC Br\u00fchl immer wieder, hoch kar\u00e4tige Mannschaften f\u00fcr den LCB-Cup zu gewinnen.<\/p>\n<p>So schrieben sich z.B. Hypobank Nieder\u00f6sterreich, Podravka Koprivnica, Lokomotiva Zagreb und Debrecen in die Siegerlisten ein. Das einzige, was sich ver\u00e4ndert hat, ist der Name. Nach den Sommerferien wurde erstmals das internationale Juniorinnenturnier, der Celltec-Cup ausgetragen. In den beiden \u00e4ltesten Juniorinnenkategorien konnten sich die Br\u00fchlerinnen an der internationalen Konkurrenz messen und sich ideal vorbereiten auf die im September beginnende Meisterschaft. Zudem wollte man auch im Juniorinnenbereich die internationalen Kontakte pflegen und den M\u00e4dchen die Gelegenheit bieten, sich vor heimischen Publikum gegen starke Gegnerinnen zu messen. Nach mehreren Durchf\u00fchrungen musste der LC Br\u00fchl Handball dem nicht betr\u00e4chtlichen finanziellen Aufwand nachgeben.
